My name is Haley and I am the founder of Market Street Candles.

I was born and raised in Southern California amongst a family of successful fashion designers.  Always having a strong sense of design and California style, I was inspired to start Market Street Candles while decorating my new home in Venice Beach a few years ago. I was looking for candles which not only smelled fantastic, but were aesthetically pleasing as well.

Not finding what I was looking for, I began hand pouring my own candles with items I already had in the house.  I played around with different scents and compotes, scouring flea markets and mixing different scented oils.  I grew attached to the precious objects I was turning into candles, and soon realized that the vessels poured with soft soy wax did not need to be thrown away and could be used again and again. 

Originally I used my candles as centerpieces at dinner parties with family and friends, and when they began to receive an amazing response, I started selling the candles in a few local boutiques. What began a creative idea for my home has become a wonderful business that allows me to do what I love and share it with the rest of the world!
